Other Health

Health is a holistic concept which includes physical, psychological, emotional, intellectual and social wellbeing. A balanced approach to health will help you feel better and enjoy improved function in your everyday life. Adopting healthy behaviours and taking positive actions in all areas of your health can give you the right balance to enhance and maintain your health and wellness.

Some general tips for achieving overall health and wellbeing include:

  • be physically active - 30 minutes 5 days a week
  • eat a healthy, balanced diet
  • quit smoking cigarettes
  • get adequate sleep
  • minimise alcohol consumption (and achieve at least 1-2 alcohol free days per week)
  • take regular breaks at work (walk around, stretch, move away from the computer)
  • stay connected to your family/friends and keep up your hobbies (or try a new hobby)
  • schedule regular time-out for yourself to just sit, think and relax
