Safety, Health and Injury Management and Wellbeing

Online Induction and Training

Our role is to develop and assist in the implementation of the UWA safety, health and wellbeing programs in order to minimise the risk of injury, illness and property damage.

We provide consultancy and other services to promote best practice and legislative compliance in all University and related activities.

The University is committed to providing comprehensive health and safety inductions and training. Local Induction will be organised by the workplace. The staff online induction and other training modules are hosted by the UWA Learning Management System (LMS) which is access controlled by use of your Pheme password (the exception is the Contractor Safety Induction which does not require a Pheme password).

Online Student Safety Induction
Some students may be required to complete the online student safety induction depending on their activities whilst on University premises.
Online Contractor Safety Induction
Contractors must be inducted via the Online Contractor Safety Induction process and understand the requirements of the University regarding health and safety during any tasks or activities they undertake.

This information will provide a sound basis for further training. There is a quiz to complete at the end of the unit.

Online Laser Safety Training
This online training is the first part of the Laser Safety in Research Course that is run by UWA Safety, Health and Wellbeing. It is designed to enable Class 3B and Class 4 lasers to be used, while supervised, before they attend the next scheduled Laser Safety in Research Course. Completing this online component does NOT allow you to use Class 3B or 4 Lasers unsupervised and it does NOT allow you to apply for a Class 3B or 4 laser license.
