OSH for Managers and Supervisors (1 day) on Monday 7th MayThe next UWA Safety and Health for Managers and Supervisors course (1 day) is on Monday 7th May 2007. This is essential training for all manager and supervisors. It provides knowledge of OSH legislation, principles, responsibilities and practices and their application at UWA. The new SHRs are: Kanika Chandra (General Practice), Gail Earl (Population Health) and Colin Phillips (Human Movement and Exercise Sciences). Renominating SHRs are Greg Cawthray (Plant Biology), Hubert Jurkiewicz (Psychology) and Rod Robinson (Human Movement and Exercise Sciences). UWA Emergency Procedures BookletA new UWA Emergency procedures booklet has been prepared and is currently being printed. It is expected to be distributed to all workplaces during May. It contains sections on: General introduction, Emergency Evacuation, Fire/Smoke, Personal Injury, Personal Threat, Bomb Threat, Bomb Threat Checklist, Suspicious mail or Package, Radioisotope or Biohazard Spill, Chemical Hazard / Spill / Gas Leak and a section on People with Specific Needs. It is requested that these be carefully read when first received and that they be retained near telephones.
