How to Become a First Aid Officer
To appoint a First Aid Officer a letter from the Head of School/Section appointing the staff member as a First Aid Officer is required. Please forward this document along with a copy of a current accredited Senior First Aid Officer (or higher) Certificate to UWA Safety & Health. The $10 a week First Aid Officer allowance is deducted from the same project grant as the usual salary for the individual ie from the Schools funds NOT UWA Safety & Health funds. Upon receipt of the letter from Head of School and copy of the first aid certificate, the First Aid Officer will be added to the list at: http://www.safety.uwa.edu.au/people/fao The Safety & Health Office will then forward the documents to Human Resources for commencement of payment of the First Aid Officer allowance. This process can take up to 5 weeks before appearing in your pay. Please note that you will be back paid to the date you were appointed a First Aid Officer. |
