USC Minor Works Guidelines
The USC minor works funds:
- are allocated annually from central minor work allocations
- provides assistance in expediting safety related improvement within or for the University
- may be used for minor infrastructure, landscaping, fittings, signage, furniture and equipment
- is not to be used for replacing like for like equipment. Work areas are required to make provisions for the replacement of equipment over the life of the equipment
- must comply with FM guidelines on the ‘Procurement of minor works by Schools’, available at: http://www.FM.uwa.edu.au/about/policies/procurement_of_minor_works_by_schools
- generally provided on a 50% cost share with the work area
- requests less than $2,000 may be approved by the Manager, Safety and Health and reported at the next USC meeting
- requests for greater than $2,000 are required to be presented to the USC
Procedures for applying and receiving USC minor works funding:
- obtain quotations for the minor works improvements, furniture, equipment
- obtain written approval from the Safety and Health on the USC contribution
- obtain agreement with managers of the work area to proceed
- commission the work or order the required furniture or equipment
- approve payment
- forward credit account information and supporting documentation to Safety and Health to recoup the agreed contribution (GST will not be recouped)
