Further information

Balance refers to being in control and feeling comfortable with your choices.

Most people have many things in their life they are trying to juggle such as career, relationships, health, leisure, friends and family. It is important to find a balance between all these things.

This means:

  • meeting basic needs such as food and housing
  • making time for exercise and maintaining a healthy diet
  • making time for relationships, family and friends
  • keeping up the things you enjoy (reading, movies, sport)
  • managing anxiety and stress.

In the workplace, life balance is about employees having flexible enough work arrangements to enable them to both participate in the workforce and fulfil their family and lifestyle commitments and desires.
