The Pro-forma Health and Safety Manual is an important resource for local workplaces. It contains guidance for use as a template for developing local manuals. It is regularly updated and should be reviewed periodically to ensure that locally developed manuals are kept up-to-date.
Where safety manuals (and other equivalent procedures to which this pro-forma refers) are in use, they should be compared to confirm that they address, as a minimum, all generic safety guidance which applies across the University. Adoption of newly prepared manuals, endorsement of a General Statement of Health and Safety Management and implementation of the UWA Safe System of Work are to be initiated by the workplace Health and Safety Committee. Whilst there is minor editing to be completed throughout, when tailoring the Health and Safety Manual for specific workplaces the main editing is in Section 8 - Local Rules.
This register records the successive changes including dates, why they were made and what the changes were.
